Osushi Restaurant Review

Osushi Restaurant in the Copley
My Opinions:  Small and mighty ... this restaurant is tiny, in a nook of Copley Plaza, and the food, and food quality, is great! They even round out the menu with scorpion bowls - the restaurant is kept clean and the atmosphere is cozy

Yoki Restaurant & Bar Review

Yoki
My Opinions:  An unassuming Japanese restaurant that offers great sushi/sashimi - Staff is very friendly - Sitting at the bar is just as fun and service oriented as sitting at a table - It's a comfortable spot for the single diner too - Drinks are creative and good (definitely try the scorpion bowl) - Restaurant is a good size and kept clean. There is even outside seating in the warm season, but with minimal views ... on the topic, there is plenty of free parking in the lot, so it makes it an easy place to visit!

Some Food/Drink Tasted: Maki, Sushi & Sashimi - Edamame - Beef Teriyaki - Gyoza - Scorpion Bowl

Radius Restaurant & Bar Review

Radius
My Opinions: A Boston-Classic in the Financial District, and one of my favorite restaurants to dine at - Service is impeccable with Food Quality and Flavors to match - I like the sexy room layout and simple/clean decor - Bar scene is very nice, even for the single diner/drinker, and it boasts a nice after-work crowd. Try the seating by the large windows to get a view of passerby's - I'm a big fan of Via Matta as well, a member of Michael Schlow's group of restaurants.

Some Food/Drink Tasted: Maine Crab Salad – Sweetbreads – Foie Gras – Chilled Maine Lobster – Bass – Organic Chicken – Rib Eye

Scampo Restaurant & Bar Review

Scampo at the Liberty Hotel
My Opinions: The food is good, the service is fine and the chef, Lydia Shire, is famous ... the wait for a table, reservation or not, is atrocious, extremely frustrating, and should not still be happening since the restaurant has been opened long enough to correct this issue - The mozzarella bar is fun - Bar scene is fine and gets some overflow from Alibi and Clink - There is outside seating for dining and special events in the warm season.

Some Food/Drink Tasted: Naan – Artichoke & Prosciutto Pizza – Spaghetti Bolognese – Brick Chicken – Mozzarella Bar w/Vine Ripe Heirloom Tomatoes

Patronage Inclination: Fleeting

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse Restaurant Review

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar
My Opinions: This is a great steakhouse and meets all the expectations that come with a nice steakhouse – The service, cleanliness and decor are very good as well as the cuts of steak – Excellent wine list, including a nice selection of wines by the glass - Bar Scene can be good with an after-work mix, but as of late, the crowd has thinned

Marliave Restaurant Review

Marliave
My Opinions: This was one of those few successful restaurant re-inventions in Boston. With a minimalistic approach to advertising, this establishment's stayed true to their neighborly-attitude and retained their loyal customers while enticing new ones - They have upgraded their menu, so the prices are a bit higher, but still in the affordable range - Though seemingly more food-focused, Marliave mixes some excellent cocktails and a good wine list - The expensive truffle cheesy macaroni was good, and worth a one-time try.

Some Food/Drink Tasted: Cheesy Macaroni – Beets - Henry’s Soup – Yankee Pot Roast – Bistecca

Vox Populi Restaurant & Bar Review

Vox Populi
My Opinions: Decent food and strong drinks - The casual feel pulls a younger crowd and its Boylston Street location sets it up as a good pick-up bar at night - Typically a "meat-market" with more men than women circulating - Vox hosts a lot of events, usually with complimentary appetizers, so there's always a good crowd. They make it very easy to host an event as well. - Don't miss the upstairs section that has additional seating and another full bar - I love the 50 Carat Martini that comes with a stick of Rock Candy!

Some Food/Drink Tasted: Pear Salad – Steak Frites – Statler Chicken – Southwestern Chicken – Grilled Cheese – Black Angus Burger

Picco Restaurant Review

Neptune Oyster Restaurant Review

Neptune Oyster
My Opinions: Such a great seafood restaurant find in the lovely North End. The seating is limited and very tight, so bring your patience and leave your need for personal space at the door. Once seated, the service is casual, but good - The oysters are cold and fresh and the meals are naturally flavorful.

Pigalle Restaurant Review

Pigalle
My Opinions: This is such a romantic neighborhood restaurant ... I hope the rumor mill is wrong, and it doesn't go out of business - The food is consistently delicious - Wine list has some nice options - Service is attentive and respectful of your space and conversation - the upscale restaurant is small and cozy, and avoids feeling cramped ... magic?

Sel de la Terre Restaurant & Bar Review

Sel de la Terre
My Opinions: Everyone knows that brunch is my favorite meal, and I adore the brunch at Sel de la Terre - My favorite location is on the waterfront as it's been opened longer, I enjoy the 1-level layout better, the bakery as you enter the front is inviting, and the small outside dining tables in the warm season  - Food is delicious and the Service is formal and polite at all locations.

Some Food/Drink Tasted: Eggplant-Goat Cheese puree – Pork Pate – Beef Short Rib – Grilled Hanger Steak Frites – Grilled ham and Cheese – Brunch Breads – Brioche French Toast – Quiche

Orleans Restaurant Review

Orleans
My Opinions:  Located in Davis Square ... haven't been back in a little while since I frequent Boston, but it's definitely a place I'd revisit - Food is good with a selection of bar food and some entree dishes - the service is friendly and casual - the establishment does a great job catering to the local younger crowd. Trivia night is fun and participatory, they offer live music or a dj some nights, and currently they've even integrated Rock Band into their offerings on Sunday. - Outside seating in the warm weather is nice, even if it has a back-alley feel.

Some Food/Drink Tasted: Orleans’ P.B.T. – Cornish Game Hen – Chicken Rigatoni – Quesadilla - Nachos - Beer-Beer-Beer!

Cactus Club Restaurant Review

Cactus Club
My Opinions: The service, food and cleanliness is decent, tasty and up-to-code – The scene is typically younger, but still casually fun – Huge margaritas are always cold and impressive – During the warm weather, sitting outside is social and enjoyable

Eastern Standard Bar & Restaurant Review

Eastern Standard
My Opinions: I have been coming here since it opened and the Service has always been attentive and professional – the Food has made marked improvements and now ranks among the top of the list for its flavors and menu offerings, brunch, lunch and dinner – Interior is comfortable – Bar scene is great and is considered a hot spot for singles to meet other singles – the space makes for a great place for companies and groups to host events at – It's always fun to visit during the cold weather and dine outside under the heat lamps

Post 390 Restaurant & Bar Review

Post 390
My Opinions: I went shortly after its grand opening, and I think it was too soon. The bar was great! The bartenders were qualified and friendly and the crowd was professional and fun.  Then, I had dinner upstairs and it changed my mind about the place. The service was bad ... slow, uninformed about the menu, and a bit too casual for the atmosphere - Food was fine, but did not come out at the same time, which, in a party of 6, is awkward - I would go back to the bar at some point because the layout is social (reminiscent of Sonsie's) and the bar service was good.

South End Buttery Cafe & Restaurant Review

South End Buttery
My Opinions:  I adore coffee. Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Peets, and the like ... and I have got to say, I really like the coffee drinks here! They're strong and flavorful, but without a hint of bitterness - The bakery and cafe food here is very good too with fresh quality ingredients, but pretty expensive - They offer a sit-down dinner option, but this doesn't strike me as a place to go for a "meal" - Service is good, though they run on lean means, which can slow down the delivery process.

Turtle Club Restaurant Review

Turtle Club Restaurant
My Opinions: The service and food were good, but you really come here for the scenery. This was my first time here, and I can't wait to come back. I had the opportunity to experience the on-beach dining, and it was beautiful, especially when the sun starts to set ... plan to get there about a half-hour before sundown and wear shoes you can kick off so you can feel the sand between your toes!  To note: Once night falls, there are some pesky sand bugs that really pick at you, so I finished my dinner inside.

Chops City Grill Restaurant Review

Chops City Grill
My Opinions: Service was decent and the food was good, but not fine dining quality – the ambiance was what you'd expect of a typical steak house – Bar scene is nice in theory, but was spotty in reality

Caliterra Restaurant Review

Caliterra Bar & Grille at the Hilton
My Opinions: The food is surprisingly good, fresh and well prepared – Service is excellent at the bar – The décor is comfortable and basic – Bar scene is hit-or-miss because of the Hilton Hotel, it’s not a typical pick-up spot, but can offer some interesting patrons
Some Food/Drink Tasted: Chicken lettuce Wraps – Wild Mushroom Pizza – Pepperoni Pizza – Heirloom Tomato Salad – Filet Mignon Sandwich – Chicken Panini – Turkey Panini

Troquet Restaurant & Bar

Troquet
My Opinions: I started coming here for the cheese and discovered this restaurant had a lot more to offer!  They have a lovely cheese cart that they bring to you and cut your portions as you select them - Their wine list is fantastic, and they offer tasting portions so you can try more than you usually would be able to (drink responsibly) - The newer small bar by the front is nice, and best in the summer season - When I finally ventured upstairs one evening, I found a flavorful menu of meats and fish - the seating is spread out, so you don't feel like you're sitting with the table next to you - in this photo, I've actually sat at the boot by the window

Some Food/Drink Tasted: Marinated Beet Salad – Ricotta Cavatelli – Crispy Duck Confit – Short Rib Canneloni – Roasted Sucking Pig – Veal – Hazelnut Mille

Lobby Bar & Kitchen Restaurant Review

Lobby Bar & Kitchen
My Opinions: The food is surprisingly tasty - the bar is a basic bar, with friendly service - the setup is like a mini casual lounge - We all like outside dining during our warm season, so their sidewalk-tables are a great offering.

Ivy Restaurant Review

Ivy Restaurant
My Opinions: The bar service is typically very good, but the wait service could use some refinement - When they first opened, the food used to all be excellent. Currently, the dishes' quality and flavors can range from good to disappointing ... luckly they offer tapas-style dining so you can try a variety of plates - Their affordable wine menu has always been the biggest draw - To note, the bar can be a good after-work meeting ground
Some Food/Drink Tasted: Ivy House salad – Italian Butcher Block – Arancinis – Fettuccine with Meatballs – Steak Frites – Chicken Cacciatore – Tortellini alla Panna

BiNA Osteria Restaurant Review

BiNA Osteria
My Opinions: Service is average – Food is of high-quality but sometimes the flavor pairings are a bit harsh and disconnected – As odd as this may sound, I think their pizza is the best item on the menu – Interior Decor is simple and modern, but doesn’t get the crowd it requires to be very lively – Bar offers some unique mixed drinks and some special wines by the glass – Private parties of 30+ are the most suitable for the bar/lounge and they will work with you to bring in your own wine/alcohol for a corking fee
Some Food/Drink Tasted: Rabbit Pate – Mozzarella di Bufala - Prosciutto Pizza – Bistecca – Pollo

Puff the Magic Bar Review

Puff the Magic
My Opinions: I adore this establishment and its owners ... they always make you feel welcomed and are great fun to lounge with - Humidor has a great selection of cigars, loose tobacco and cigarettes - the Full bar is great - The atmosphere is friendly with piano music, comfy seating, and games to play while you can unhurriedly enjoy your drink/smoke - there's even a front porch you can sit on in the nice weather - When you visit, don't forget to look up and appreciate the unique ceiling that makes you wish you could lie down on it!
