Hamersley's Bistro Restaurant Review

Hamersley's Bistro
My Opinions: This used to be my favorite restaurant! I have enjoyed their food, but I am not happy with the many times they were written-up by the Health Department, so, with regret, I have stopped choosing to dine here ... instead I go to Mistral. Mistral's layout is very similar, delicious food, great service, energetic bar scene.

Sibling Rivalry Restaurant & Bar Review

Sibling Rivalry
My Opinions: This has become a “neighbor” spot, because it’s still good food, but it doesn’t pull the crowd it used to – I was disappointed in the cookie plate. Most places try to serve them warm and at least give the allusion of being freshly baked, these are not very tasty or warm … too bad – I'm not impressed with their wine list or options for by-the-glass. The bar is not typically busy, but the bartenders are fun and really make it an experience - The ambiance is nice and you commonly find dates or close friends meeting up here ... I guessing because it's not too loud or crowded.

Rocca Restaurant & Bar Review

Rocca
My Opinions: Braised meat is one of my favorite dishes. Recently, I tried Rocca's Braised Short Ribs, and was disappointed. They were a bit bland and very fatty. Everything else was business as usual, fantastic: service, food quality, cleanliness and ambiance. - The bartenders are fantastic … especially Anna! - The upstairs dining room is surprising and very comfortable. It even hosts another, smaller bar - Don't miss the outside dining during the warm season. Last year they did Yappy Hour  (so adorable), and I hope they continue the event!

Grendel's Den Bar & Restaurant Review

GRENDEL'S DEN
My Opinions: Half-Price menu hours are great! The menu has a good variety of food and is very affordable – I love fondue, but I don’t like the one here … I think they use the wrong wine and a low quality cheese … too bad – the wait staff is friendly and fun, and gets the job done. The bartenders are usually the best company, so eat at the bar if you want good service – the Food is okay – They offer pitchers of beer which is always convenient - I am not a fan of garden-level dining establishments – Interior is plain and the seating is close together due to the small space - People who come here are lively and typically a younger, college-age crowd

Ristorante Fiore Restaurant & Bar Review

Ristorante Fiore
My Opinions:  The food is delicious and the service is very good - I like the semi-formal approach inside, within the outside street-level seating and on the roof top - The people who come here are fun and extremely social in the Summer - the Roof Deck Bar is a favorite of mine, but sitting at the bar can get quite hot from the dishwashers, so try to grab a high-top table – They typically offer a wide variety of infused liquors, don't miss trying them - I'd love to meet the owners, they seem well loved ... just check out their "gift" case of divine liquors friend's have given them!

Morton's Restaurant Review

Morton's
My Opinions: This is a consistent and quality steakhouse - The service is formal and attentive - I enjoy the sides and cuts of meat presentations - they have a nice wine list with the appropriate stemware (more restaurants with a notable wine list should follow this lead as it enhances the wine's flavors)

Masa Restaurant and Bar Review

Masa
My Opinions: I am a tequila drinker (si, bebido tequila), and they have a large selection to choose from. If you don't know what kinds you want, they even offer a  shot sampler to get you going - Their tapas menu is great, but not for someone on  a diet! - I like both the bar and restaurant section; they're lively with a good mix of people - Lunch is my favorite meal to sit and eat here - As of late, they offer free Salsa lessons on Thursday nights in Boston by salsaboston.com

Clink Bar and Restaurant Review

Clink at the Liberty Hotel
My Opinions: I just saw another Thursday Fashion Show night and the designer was "no Mendoza", but who's going to complain too much about  the clothes when you have pretty models prancing around?! – The bar scene is always fun, social and fashionable – Ambiance is lively and posh – the special event nights are a fun addition to the calendar – the restaurant is average – the Vuvee Cliquot menu is a special treat – I dare you to purchase the Key Cocktail ... it's bound to be memorable, so share your experience with me!

Club Cafe Bar and Restaurant Review

Club Cafe
My Opinions: They just reopened after a very successful renovation in the crack of 2010 –  The bar and dance club scene is excellent and caters to the gay community  – The food has been just "okay", and I am looking forward to see if it has improved since its reopening  - perhaps I'll try the Sunday brunch buffet!

W Lounge Review

W Lounge at the W Hotel Boston
My Opinions:  I like coming here, and there is always a different vibe week-to-week, even on the same days - It's fun to get a bite at the bar along side of some well-mixed cocktails - The fire pits are very hot and sweat isn’t becoming, so I recommend not sitting too close - I'm waiting for the hotel to work out some plan on how to reserve the tables in the lounge ... I know many places do it, so no need to reinvent the wheel! I'm looking forward to seeing how this lounge blooms.

Some Food/Drink Tasted: Truffle Fontina Pizza – Cookies and Confections – MARKET Cheeseburger – Warm Chocolate Cake ... you can get the Market menu, but it's more fun to enjoy the bite-sized menu out in the lounge.

Gaslight Restaurant Review

Gaslight, Brasserie du Coin
My Opinions: I love the late night dining menu! Any restaurant that continues to offer food past midnight is special in my book – Monday has been an industry special night that includes special discounted drinks and bar snacks – I love fondue, but unfortunately I do not like the one offered here – The staff is great – the Bar scene is friendly with a lot of locals - Lunch is a simple cafe menu and very tasty

Blu
My Opinions:  I haven't been back here in a while, but the dinner experience I had was very good - Service is good, friendly staff, and they were attentive, but not overbearing – Food quality was very good – Ambiance is decent and fluctuates – Bar scene is good for singles, locals and pairs – If you’re a member of Sports Club LA you are privy to a discount off of your bill

Cigar Masters Bar Review

Cigar Master
My Opinions: The service is kept at a moderate pace, but this is one place I wouldn't complain too much about because you shouldn't be in a rush when you go into a lounge like this - It can get pretty smoky in there, the ventilation could be better, but what do you expect? - I do believe the smoking should be kept to the lounge and kept out of the humidor - Bar scene is always fun and social - Cigarettes are sold in the humidor - Since they only serve wine and beer, I like the locker storage VIP option, so you can have your own personal products on hand - The management and staff are very easy to work with for special events!

Golden Temple
My Opinions: Decor is pleasing and comfortable with a lot of booths - Food is all natural and yummy. The menu offers all the typical Chinese dishes. Also, they never add MSG or  use Trans Fat so don't feel guilty about eating here- Cocktails are very good and the menu is extensive – Service is basic, but gets the job done – Bar can be fun, but it varies

Brasserie Jo Restaurant Review

Brasserie Jo
My Opinions: Not sure how much longer this place will be around (I miss Ambrosia!) - perhaps they should consider changing their menu to simple comfort foods - it doesn't meet quality standards to offer cuts of steak and fresh fish. My steak, and my friend's chicken, were small portions pounded into thin thin pieces - I asked for my steak medium/medium rare, but it came out well done because the slices were too thin to have a warm red center! The servers did what they could, but this restaurant was empty and I believe the food is a big part of the reason. What a shame, it used to be a great restaurant.

Asana Restaurant Review

Asana at the Mandarin Oriental Boston
My Opinions: Everyone knows that I always drink a large bottle of sparkling water with a lot of limes, and the lime slices at the Mandarin truly impress me. The limes are always juicy, not dried out, and they are cut into meaty slices! – Service is excellent … attentive with a touch of Asian flair – Food is high-end, fresh and well-prepared – Cleanliness is kept to the highest of standards – Dining room is spacious and relaxing with a great view of Boylston Street – If you have a favorite table, ask the host make a note of the table number and they will try to seat you there every time.

Siros Restaurant Review

Siros
My Opinions:  I enjoy going to Marina Bay, and this is my favorite restaurant in the marina. Siros has a lot of outside seating that overlooks the docks - The food is consistently good. To note: they have a tasty marinara sauce - Service is appropriate to a semi-casual white-linen restaurant - They have a decent bar inside that can be nice for the local diner or a solo diner - No surprise, it gets pretty busy in the Summer, so be sure to make a reservation.

Revolution Rock Bar Review

Revolution Rock Bar
My Opinions: They have a food menu, but I have never considered eating here ...maybe I should? - Even though this place isn't my normal scene, I do like the upstairs lounge furniture and vibe. On weekend nights, the dining room tables are moved out and the area turns into a dance floor. They do a good job getting in well-known DJs, but a poor job getting the people in-line in-the-door.

McCormick & Schmick's Restaurant Review

McCormick & Schmick's
My Opinions: My first introduction to this restaurant was in San Francisco, CA, and it was fantastic. I had the raw bar and chilled vodka  (delicious!) - Happy Hour Menu is always good and extremely affordable - Offers a notable wine list - quality of food is consistent and good - The Faneuil Hall location is generally more lively than the Park Plaza restaurant that I usually go to.

Grill 23 Bar & Restaurant Review

Grill 23 & Bar
My Opinions: I have been coming here for years. The Bar scene used to be a hot spot, but has diminished to being nondescript now - Service is attentive and formal – Food is good, fresh and hearty portions, though lately, coming into 2010, they have been over-salting their food. I believe this will change once the guest count picks up again – High standard of cleanliness – Typical steakhouse interior with white linens, warm dark wood and two floor level. They always do a nice job making it festive during the holidays.

Top of the Hub Restaurant & Bar Review

Top of the Hub
My Opinions: A classic restaurant of Boston that has stayed true to their roots by maintaining a formal menu with service and ambiance to match - Food is very good, but not excellent ... even still, Top of the Hub is a great spot because of its views of Boston. It's a nice pick for a date as well - If looking for some entertainment, I recommend skipping the dinner menu and enjoying the bar menu while listening to the band - I adore that they always have live music - It can get packed, so be sure to make reservations.

Some Food/Drink Tasted: Whole Chicken – Veal Sirloin – Valrhona Warm Chocolate Cake – Freshly Baked Cookies – Brie and Walnuts – Arugula Salad – Baby Spinach Salad – Tenderloin of Beef Sandwich – Hub B.L.T.

L'Espalier Restaurant Review

L'Espalier
My Opinions: The original location was better because of its unique atmosphere ... now it looks like any other upscale restaurant in Boston - The food is of fine quality - Service is top notch - I haven't had the same desire to dine there since they've moved
Some Food/Drink Tasted: Foie Gras – Risotto – Rabbit Bolognese – Lemon Sole – Wild Boar

Legal Sea Foods Restaurant Review

Legal Sea Foods
My Opinions: I have been going here since I was a baby - If you've ever visited Boston, dining at a Legal Sea Food is a must - The chowder is fantastic, and their lite is fine, but go for the original if you can - The warm rolls are yummy, so ask for extras – Skip the deserts; I really wish they would upgrade this part of the menu to better chocolate and better tasting items – Great Wine list that’s priced fairly – They have the best Champagne Mignonette for the oysters that I’ve ever tasted - I do not like the new credit card machine that they bring to the table - I feel like it cheapens the experiences and makes for some awkward moment, especially when they explain the tip portion

Some Food/Drink Tasted: Swordfish – Baked Boston Scrod – Baked Boston Scrod – Chowder – Lobster Bisque – Chopped Greek Salad – Signature Crab Cake – Popcorn Shrimp – Winter Salad – Coconut Shrimp – Surf & Turf ... basically the entire menu!

Bistro du Midi Restaurant Review

Bistro du Midi
My Opinions: Delicious food, my favorite is the pumpkin barbajans – Great service and excellent standards of cleanliness – Ambiance is better than Exclesior – Bar scene isn't as good as Excelsior – Dining room décor is a comfortable upscale feel with a nice view of Boylston Street – An added element is that they have a proactive service manager and sommelier always on-hand – Be sure not to sit directly in front of the fireplace – too hot!
Some Food/Drink Tasted: Barbajans, Parmesan & Black Olive Shortbreads – Fried Artichokes with Aïoli – Chestnut Soup – Marinated Beet Salad – Filet of Beef – Classic Provençal Beef Daube
