My Opinions: The hotel has always been a great event spot, but thinking about coming here for dinner is not always fresh in my mind - There is a lot of history here ... it's home to the original Boston Cream Pie for goodness sakes, but it has seemed to have lost it's popularity and visibility among Bostonians; the restaurant wasn't even half-full on a fair-weathered Friday night. Hmmm?
Perhaps they should "freshen up" their image and marketing ... especially since there's less fine-dining options with the closing of a few formal restaurants and the opening of even less (except for the bold Menton restaurant)
Food was still very good - Service was attentive and formal - I would like to try their lobster risotto (next time, further down the road, when I think of it).
